You are an experienced tender bid writer/ submission manager with outstanding writing and organisation skills. You’re personable, commercially astute, and a strong team player. You delight clients – whether you’re contributing to a strategy session, reviewing a bid at the 11th hour, or writing compelling content from scratch.
You’ve probably been thinking about incorporating some flexibility into your work schedule for some time, but you’re aware that establishing a business and a client base is a tough process which usually takes years.

About us: Plan A is New Zealand’s largest and most experienced professional tender writing company. Being a Plan A consultant is like having your own business, but with ready-made systems, market reputation, IP and collegial support.
Our work involves consulting in a wide range of sectors for clients across New Zealand and internationally. These include civil construction and engineering, security, health services, technology, professional services, and many other areas.
Our clients are most often engineers, managers, or technical people. They typically not only need someone to articulate their information exceptionally well in writing, but also need guidance based on experience, business acumen, and courageous, insightful questioning.
Are you right for this opportunity? You have solid tender writing and bid management experience; excellent project and client management skills; and the ability to work under pressure.
You have proven abilities in writing content, organising information and managing complex documents. Credible, intelligent and insightful – you will have a range of experience that enables you to quickly grasp the essentials in business sectors that are new to you.
You’re comfortable working remotely, with qualities of self-discipline, as well as your own office set-up and a home environment that makes this approach work for you.
A solid commitment is needed from successful recruits for at least an initial six months while they are learning our systems, standards and processes. Even very experienced bid writers and managers typically invest around a month of their own time spread over that period, to come up to speed with the demands and standards of our work.
It takes a few months to build up relationships with clients and other Plan A team members that support a steady workstream, so you need to be prepared for that. Typically, once up to speed, we work on 2-3 projects at a time to ensure a continuous flow of billable work.
