We Are Looking For
A passionate technologist who loves to push boundaries, cares for and takes pride in her art, and looks to spread this enthusiasm around. Standard definitions and abbreviations don't entice us much. Though we are looking for specific experiences like below as they fit something we already do, do allow us to tell you that we value overall skills and a drive to learn more, even if your experiences do not match the list below a lot. JVM experiences will be pretty key though.
• Mostly functional languages or styles (Scala, Clojure, Haskell, Functional Java)
• Experiences with various frameworks/libraries/applications (examples below). Not because they are the best or most used. But because they probably help widen perspectives. And help pick better ones when needed (because you've seen more.)
• Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate
• Play. Spray. Slick.
• Akka - Actors and Streams. Slick.
• Netty
• Vert.x
• Reactive Programming
• TDD. Or even test-later. As long as you are keen on proving what's been delivered is what was asked for. And appreciate that automation saves time and efforts on mundane repetitive everyday work.
• In-depth insights - or an ability to reason well - about how things work. Be it plain 'ol HTTP, or how reactive libraries work.
• Databases. Relational. NoSQL. Graph databases.
• GraphQL
• You know what good CI/CD are for.
• You are passionate about your developer experience and efficiency, which means tooling, IDEs and editor choices frequently lead you into intense (but respectful) debates with people around. And of course, you are not stuck and are willing to change opinions when someone has a better idea.
• You understand and dig distributed architectures, and know why microservices make sense. But of course, you also do not convert every function call into a microservice and draw pragmatic boundaries.
