Primary Skills : Teradata Database Administration
Secondary skill : Backup Restore, Archive Management, Performance Management and Reporting
Manage and support 247 [ Rotational Shift ] production and development databases and ensure maximum availability of database resources for various applications
Administer, maintain, and implement changes to existing databases to meet Customer requirements
Perform DBA-related tasks in key areas of System/Database Administration, Backup, Restore, Archive Management, Performance Management, Reporting and shell scripting
Working with the NetBackup BAR solution, Backup and recovery of DBC (metadata).
Perform DR related activities (Backup DBC and application data from existing application to DR appliance)
Manage Capacity Planning, Performance Monitoring & Tuning. Responsible for defining strategies for Backup and Recovery techniques, Space, User and Security management.
Responsible for proactively identifying problems in the Teradata platform and resolution of the same.
Implementation experience in Teradata version upgrade, migrations with hands-on exposure to all DBA functions and experience working with Teradata Utilities.
Experience in writing SQL queries and exposure to tune the queries for performance Improvement, Knowledge of Logical Data Model and Physical Data Model concepts.
• Teradata vantage Certification is preferred.
