Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development:
• Conceptualize and design high-quality, luxury-inspired decorative pillows and throws that achieve an accessible price point.
-Material and Technique Exploration:
• Experiment with fabrics (e.g., velvet, linen, cotton blends) and techniques (e.g., embroidery, jacquard weaving, trims) that can offer a luxury feel.
- Trend Analysis and Research:
• Conduct market and trend research.
• Analyze global color and textile trends that can be translated into accessible designs with an elevated look and feel.
• Attend trade shows and industry events to discover materials and techniques that align with the brand aesthetics.
-Cross-functional Collaboration
• Collaborate with sales, product development, and production teams to optimize designs and customers needs.
-Prototyping
• Develop detailed tech packs, including specifications and efficient construction techniques.
• Review prototypes to ensure designs meet the intended luxury appeal while adhering to budget parameters; adjust as necessary.
• Work closely with product development to oversee sample development, ensuring each product maintains quality.
-Presentation and Communication:
• Prepare presentations and articulate design choices that highlight design concepts, luxury-driven materials, and cost-efficient strategies.
• Maintain detailed records of design development to support pricing goals and streamline future projects.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design, or related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience designing for the home textiles or luxury decor industry, with a focus on creating cost-effective, upscale products.
• Strong portfolio showcasing experience with luxury-inspired, decorative pillows and throws.
• Excellent understanding of materials and techniques that enhance high-end appeal.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on price-sensitive design solutions.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
