Job Title: VP- Lending Operations within Global Trade Finance & Lending Operations
Location : India, Bangalore
The Operations Head is responsible for all aspects of leadership covering Trade Finance & Lending product including overall accountability for all employees and functions performed. The Head has a senior level of understanding of the business, process and/or product and creates the structure of departments, management and supervisory required to successfully perform all functions, managing relationships both outside and within the organisation as a representative of Deutsche Bank e.g., on global and local management committees or Supervisory Board(s). A primary focus is to create and drive a culture of high performance for their employees by innovating the strategic vision, direction, and development of the overall area to this framework. The Head instigates clear, consistent communications including cascading goals and performance objectives, raising awareness of successes, issues or lessons learned and ensuring that messages are received throughout the organisation, whether it is to the global team, senior management, regulators or Executive Committees. The Operations Head is also ultimately responsible as the final escalation point for departments, controls, key process and risk indicators and they have accountability for budgets, vendor relationships & cost management. They lead by example in supporting the Bankwide regulatory agenda; are proactive in the recognition and management of risk and lead or sponsor change programmes.

Your key responsibilities
Managing the portfolio of sourced transaction processing of a particular country/set of countries/regions Stakeholder management Client satisfaction Multiple internal clients, across distinct process groups and locations. Growth in a controlled environment Measurement and adherence to KPIs Keeping errors and operational risks under control. Managing without operational loss. Driving Efficiency Gain related projects through various initiatives / changes People Management – Recruitment, development, training and managing attrition Focus on the assessment and mitigation of the operational risks in Trade Finance and or Lending Ability to remain objective and to independently raise areas of operational risk exposure, while maintaining an effective working relationship with the line and other areas within the bank. High degree of people and change management skills Demonstrable adherence to the Bank's Values and Beliefs Inquisitive and probing approach to problem solving and general assessment Embrace and lead change and transformation ideas
Prioritization
Break management: Ensure Nostro, PD/WIP, FOBO, BOBO, Intersystem reconciliation breaks are investigated and resolved on time. Escalate breaks > 7 days for closure. Incident management: Ensure issue/incident are escalated and reported based on incident threshold matrix. Closure of control gaps and manage consequence management. Escalation: Highlight issue, client/Business complaints, critical errors to senior management on priority. Audit/QA review: Ensure actionable coming out of audit/QA review are closed on priority. Ensure prompt closure of open SII and Audit findings. Provide monthly update in GFMS and call out challenges to senior management. ORB/SDM Review: Ensure operation review board and Service delivery management deck are reviewed and key risk are called out with path to green. Month end and Quarter planning to manage month end and quarter volume spike and challenges.
Delivery – Performance Review
Prepare KPI dashboard for measuring performance on priorities All transactional flows are documented - evidence that in flows, progress and out flows was completed on time and accurately. Ensure resiliency strategy between Bangalore, Jaipur and Pune is up-to-date and teams are well prepared to manage any kind of contingency. Support in approval on threshold-based transaction and Bear Trap transaction (High value). Hands on involvement in day-to-day business and a review of periodicity of quality checks for QA. Resource management: Ensure team are adequate capacity to delivery BAU priorities. Perform regular analysis to call out gaps.
Engage
Daily pulse check - Engage with key people daily, dig deep Support structure - Establish an empathetic support structure. Ask for help where needed and provide support to employees / customers. Amplify successes and positivity - Collect and magnify the successes to increase positivity. Feedback / Intel - Establish connection with ground to get correct picture of the situation Establish connect with HR to get feedback from staff Conduct daily huddles to highlight callout/issues/challenges if any to senior management. Regular 1 on 1 connects with directs and teams. Weekly connect with directs and monthly with teams Business/Stakeholder connect: Biweekly/monthly connect with business/stakeholders Collaborate with IT: Partners with IT to deliver on CTB and TB4OPS initiatives.
Training team for crisis management
Coaching & Empowerment - Invest in coaching team to handle crisis situations and empower them to boost reaction time and ownership. Employee engagement for retention, morale, team building, and education. Eliminate key person dependency by effective cross training. To drive our focus and activities to enrich the working environment for our people. Provide actions to enrich our coaching, development, engagement, and communication models. This will include efforts to create a stronger "people" environment in the US team.
Your skills and experience
Candidate should have a 15-20 years of business experience in an operation management with strong communications skills. Strong background and sound knowledge in Trade finance and or Lending Operations, managing team size of 100+ FTE or more. Effective decision making and leadership skills. Good analytical skills, high attention to detail, solid organisational and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and manage multiple deliverables / projects that are highly visible and of strategic importance to our clients Must be a facilitator managing potentially conflicting objectives Proficient in Project Management tools Familiar with Financial reporting and planning processes Sound knowledge on compliance and regulatory requirements. Sound degree of risk awareness. Strong Control/operational risk management experience with an exposure to control practices Experience in Banking Loan Services, Syndications, Agented loans, non agented loans, Bilateral loans, Trading loans etc). Need to have experience in handling teams which are processing global markets ( specially UK, Europe and USA). Must be currently leading a team of 100+ staff, experience in LoanIQ will be an added advantage.
