About this Role
The Theatre Resource Manager ensures the efficient and cost-effective utilisation and allocation of theatre staff, equipment, and consumables across assigned theatres. The position holds delegated authority and accountability for making operational clinical nursing decisions on a day-to-day basis. The role acts as a resource and support to ensure all nursing activities within the Theatre Suite are conducted safely, competently, and professionally.
Contract & Hours
Permanent Part-Time - 0.6 FTE = 3 days per week
12 months - Parental Leave Cover
Key Responsibilities
Identify training needs of nursing staff and assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating education programs in collaboration with the Clinical Manager and Clinical Educators
Demonstrate competence as a Registered Nurse in accordance with ACORN Standards, NSQHS Standards, and NMBA codes of practice. Comply with hospital and Theatre Suite policies, including infection control, safe work, and equal opportunity practices
Monitor daily nursing practice standards in patient care, teamwork, staff safety, and the safe use of equipment and consumables
Assist in the formulation, review, and implementation of Theatre Suite nursing policies and procedures
Set and model high standards of professional conduct and performance. Support staff through orientation, mentoring, and continued professional development
Promote and undertake quality improvement and clinical research activities
Foster a collaborative working environment aligned with the hospital’s values of trust, respect, and excellence in patient-centred care
Work collaboratively with clinical, medical, administrative, and allied health professionals to ensure safe, high-quality care
Relieve the Clinical Manager as required
About You
Registered Nurse at Level 3 with APHRA registration
Extensive perioperative/theatre nursing experience
Experience in staff education, mentoring and performance support
Proven leadership and coordination skills within a theatre environment
Experience monitoring practice standards, staff safety and safe use of equipment and consumables
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and allied health staff
