Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tile Setter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of tile surfaces in residential and commercial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of flooring installation, tile laying techniques, and the ability to read blueprints. The Tile Setter will work closely with other construction professionals to ensure high-quality craftsmanship and timely project completion.
Duties
Measure and prepare surfaces for tile installation according to project specifications
Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and lay tiles accurately
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine layout and design
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying adhesives or mortar
Install tiles on floors, walls, countertops, and other surfaces with precision
Perform finishing tasks such as caulking, grouting, and sealing to ensure a professional appearance
Collaborate with carpenters, handymen, and other tradespeople to coordinate project activities
Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal throughout the project
Requirements
Proven experience in flooring installation, tile laying, or related construction work
Proficiency with hand tools and construction equipment used in tile setting
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
Knowledge of carpentry skills, including caulking and general handyman experience is a plus
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
Physical stamina to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks in various conditions
Reliable transportation and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Prior experience in construction or similar roles is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
