learn to time running races for charities. uses 2 softwares, must learn timing and scoring through mylaps and the race director softwares. setting up at event. arrive 1.5 hours ahead of time. entering race day registrants, post live results, easy! setup: decoders, arches, tables, printer, laptop, timing clock, coned shoot, mats hooked to decoders, Start button through serial port, ethernet connection. be very careful with equipment. find the power or know how to Start generator, etc. there are a lot of steps ti setup and time, but one you get it, it's not hard. I am also available on support line.
Best candidates for these positions are administrative assistants, techies, office managers, detail-minded individuals, teachers, etc. We use PC laptops to time, No Macs. Must have a phone with a hotspot or be able to access the internet for the live results. Anyone can do this but organization is the key!
You will learn at my home in Van Alstyne and then attend at least 5 races with me as helper to understand the entire process. Once you accept an event, you must time it. No excuses! We cannot leave an event without a timer.
