The Tissue Bank Technicians Aid supports the DTBV by providing technical services to the operations team in the form of dispatch of tissue to hospitals throughout Australia, keeping an accurate record of all tissue types on the computerised and paper-based systems, and supporting the maintenance of equipment and the cleanroom facility.
Play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operation of our Donor Tissue Bank function and support our effort to provide an invaluable community service.
Full Time (Weekend on-call on a rotating roster)

The Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine (VIFM) provides world-leading independent forensic medical and scientific expertise to the justice system, tissue for transplantation and conducts teaching and research in forensic medicine and science. The VIFM provides the justice system with the crucial evidence that underpins safe convictions and appropriate acquittals. Our doctors and scientists investigate deaths reported to the Coroner, examine alleged offenders and medically assess and support victims of crime.
The Donor Tissue Bank of Victoria (DTBV) supports patients and their families by providing safe tissues to medical specialists and Victorian hospitals for transplantation and medical research.
Our medical and scientific staff members undertake research that directly contributes to public health and safety and the just working of our legal system. By contributing to the professional development and education of forensic pathologists, physicians, and scientists, we ensure a high standard of forensic medical services for Victoria and provide critical support for our healthcare and justice systems.

Working closely with external stakeholders and our team of highly specialised technicians you will be rewarded in the knowledge that the support that you provide directly contributes life-saving outcomes within the community.

About You
You are a detail orientated and well organised individual who thrives in a highly demanding environment. You have worked in cleanroom environments and are highly knowledgeable about Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) procedures and protocols. Key Qualifications and Attributes
VCE (or equivalent) qualification including science
Strong organisation skills
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
Experience working in a lab or similar setting
Pharma manufacturing experience would be highly regarded

Our Recruitment Process
