JOB INTRODUCTION Join our innovative team at Hongyi JIG Rapid Technologies as an Injection Mould Design Engineer! As a leading player in industrial product design and injection mould manufacturing, we are seeking a dynamic professional to take on a pivotal role in our company. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Break down the new product development projects to assess the number of injection moulds needed and optimize tooling specifications. Develop RFQs based on these tooling specifications and present them through detailed PowerPoint presentations. • Evaluating the Cycle time and suitable moulding machines based part & mould requirements. • Evaluate and refine Part & Product designs based on prototyping results, ensuring alignment with quality standards. • Review and analyze Design for Manufacturability (DFM) of plastic parts, understanding component function and requirements to optimize mould design. Provide feedback for improvement and validate the CAD data. • Check the Moldflow Analysis to simulate the injection moulding process and identify potential issues. Create feedback for design enhancements. • Review tool designs and provide approvals for tool manufacturing. Prepare feedback for design adjustments if necessary. • Collaborate with the tooling team to ensure the successful execution of mould manufacturing based on approved tool designs. • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met. • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance injection moulding processes and reduce costs. • Manage timelines, budgets, and resources for injection mould development projects. • Engage with customers to understand requirements, provide technical support, and build strong relationships. • Train and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning within the team. • Lead the injection mould development process, from conceptualization to tooling design and manufacturing oversight. QUALIFICATION • Diploma/Degree in Plastic Moulding Technology from recognized institutions such as CIPET, TRTC, GTTC, or NTTF. • 2-3 years of experience in tool costing, preferably within new product development for plastic injection moulding. • Proficiency in RFQ generation and preparing the SOP | SOW including feasibility of manufacturing • Solid knowledge of plastic injection moulding processes, tooling components, and associated costs. • Familiarity with CAD software Unigraphics | Visi CAD for basic tool and product design review. • Strong analytical skills to interpret technical drawings and specifications. • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers. • Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and a proactive approach to cost optimization. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
