Job Description
South Australia – Barossa, Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale & Clare Valley
Casual
Approximately 2 days per week
Imagine starting your day driving through some of South Australia’s most beautiful regions — the vineyards of the Barossa, the forests of the Adelaide Hills, the rolling countryside of Clare and the coastal landscapes of McLaren Vale.
CABN is looking for a reliable and hands-on Property Maintenance & Caretaker to help keep our off-grid accommodation properties running smoothly.
This role suits someone who enjoys practical work, being outdoors and taking pride in maintaining beautiful spaces. From light maintenance and property checks to stocking supplies and keeping sites tidy, you will play an important role in ensuring our cabins remain in excellent condition for every guest who stays with us.
You will receive a task list for each workday and work independently across several properties, helping maintain the experience that CABN is known for.
Key Responsibilities
Property Maintenance & Repairs
Perform general handyman tasks such as fixing blinds, replacing fittings, checking smoke alarms and resolving minor repairs
Identify and report maintenance issues before they become larger problems
Assist with preventative maintenance across cabins and outdoor areas

Grounds & Site Upkeep
Light garden maintenance including leaf blowing, mowing, trimming and weeding
Stack and maintain firewood boxes and communal firewood areas
Rubbish and recycling bin rotations

Monitor water tank levels and gas indicators and arrange refills where required
Report any damage, safety concerns or unusual findings to the operations team
Flexibility of the Role
The responsibilities listed above are indicative of the types of tasks involved and may vary depending on operational needs and seasonal maintenance requirements.
The role is designed to be flexible, with work completed across approximately two days per week during standard business hours.
While we anticipate Mondays and Thursdays being the typical working days, there is flexibility around scheduling where required. Occasional additional hours may be available depending on operational needs.
You will receive a weekly task list outlining priority jobs across our properties, allowing you to work independently and manage your time efficiently across locations.
Requirements
Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
Comfortable working independently across multiple locations
Physically capable of lifting, carrying and working outdoors
Good communication and reliability when reporting tasks or issues
Comfortable using a phone or tablet for task lists and reporting

Willingness to assist with occasional after-hours or weekend overtime call-outs if required
This Role Would Suit Someone Who

takes pride in maintaining beautiful spaces
likes working independently

is reliable and takes initiative when identifying issues
