Job Description
Participate to the complete development cycle of the embedded software for Traction converter, by assuring the works of specification, design and make the tuning of the software of Command-Control following the standard 50128, within the framework of national or international rail projects.
Collaborating with the Traction System Engineer and the Software Engineers, the Traction Control engineer define the Software Functional Requirement for traction applicative software, based on the System Requirements Specification document (SyRS).
Organisation Reporting
Hierarchical reporting to Control Command Team Leader.
Functional reporting to Traction Project Engineering Manager (PrEM).

• Car Builder non Alstom site

Performance Measurement/KPI s
• Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) indicators, for security of the persons, the properties and the environment, by applying the safety regulations of the company.
• Periodically followed-up by the PrEM and the Control Commandd Team Leader.
• Control command & contractual software are accepted by customers (internal & final)
• Quality of the delivered work through the software development cycle (specifications, change request files, etc).
• Respect and improve the costs allocated.
• Respect the delivery planning and follow-up the Software functional requirement specifications deliverables,
• None non-compliances for delivery during Quality audits (IRIS, Certifer)
• Correct application of referenced evolution and design procedures
Responsibilities
• Respect and apply the EHS rules,
• Respect the design and EN50128 internal process
• Work on many projects and manage the priorities,
• Establish the documents of Specification for functional needs of the traction/auxiliary system, in agreement with the requirements of the customer and the constraints of Reliability / Availability / Maintainability / Safety (RAMS),
• Interact with the internal or final customer to explain the solutions, during technical reviews,
• Coordinate the development of the Command-control with the whole train,
• Participate in the elaboration of the diagrams of electrical principle (Low Voltage system),
• Participate in the adjustment of the modifications of the cabled system on the train
• Write the specifications of software interfaces and equipment,
• Write the specifications of the software for the electronic command,
• Realize the adjustment of command-control with PC or on target, and manage the modifications
• Support the commissioning and software Teams: participate in the integration and in the global validation of the software, as well as in the tests on train,
• Participate in audits within the framework of the software certifications.
• Respect the QCD and update the indicators of traction control activity
• Participate in the technical meeting under responsibility of Traction System Engineer of the project (design reviews, )
• For the responsible of the workload activity:
• Insure the reporting to the PreM, TrSE and Team Leader
• Manage project Traction Control team
• Manage Traction Control development planning in agreement with project planning ,
• Organize Functional requirement description with the software teams (design and validation) in term of planning according to the project requirements,
• Organize and realize the follow-up of activities placed under your responsibility (budget and workloads), following the criteria: Quality, Cost, Delay (QCD)
• Insure technical interfaces with subcontractors team and delivery acceptation on control development project, respecting Alstom processes and legislation rules,
Knowledge & Experience:
• 2 years of experience in system design or automatic
• Basic knowledge of power converters, IGBT devices, traction systems and asynchronous motors
• Advanced knowledge of control techniques
• Good knowledge of simulation tools
• Basic knowledge of mechanics, thermodynamics and air
• Basic knowledge of measurement techniques and systems acquisition
• Basic knowledge in configuration management principle
• Basic knowledge in requirement traceability principle
• Good English oral & written expression
• Autonomous, analysis capability, team spirit, good communication skills
