Job Summary:
As a Trailer Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet's performance through intermediate maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt trailers and other equipment. You will work under routine supervision to troubleshoot issues and complete fleet maintenance responsibilities, ensuring all equipment meets J.B. Hunt's high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, air brake systems, and FHWA inspections.
• Troubleshoot trailer issues and perform intermediate-level repairs to company specifications, accurately completing work orders while adhering to standards for repair times and warranty requirements.
• Participate in Original Equipment Manufacturer training for OE repairs.
• Understand and follow all shop safety procedures diligently.
• Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years old with a minimum of 2 years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or a combination of education and experience, or military equivalent.
• Demonstrated skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences.
• At least 1 year of experience with DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes.
• Able to provide your own basic tools or utilize our toolbox purchase program.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 2+ years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or a mix of education and experience, or military equivalent.
• Basic welding skills (MIG and stick).
• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively convey and interpret ideas.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Capable of utilizing time and resources efficiently.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, such as lifting/moving items up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE).

Compensation Information:
The expected starting pay for this position is competitive and may vary based on skills, education, experience, and qualifications. This role may be eligible for annual bonuses and incentives based on profitability.
