planning.
Job description
Due to a peak in applications, we are looking for a 12 month, fixed term Train Driver Licensing Administrator. You will have an important role in helping to keep the railways working across Great Britain. You will directly contribute to the licensing of train drivers, which in turn affects services and the travelling public. Your main task will be working in a small team to maintain accurate records about all the train drivers in GB. This will include processing train driving licence applications, updating driver records and helping renew licences before they expire. This is important work as you will be influencing who is eligible to drive trains based on rules which are set out in law. Your excellent skills in paying attention to detail and accuracy will be vitally important. We keep records on a computer database. You will work closely with train operating companies who give us the information about their drivers.
Working in a small team, there will be other opportunities to gain experience in the work we do in the civil service, and within a regulator.

Additional Information
At ORR, our hybrid working means that we currently work from our workplace location a minimum of 40% of our working week, although requirements to attend other offsite locations for official business, also count towards this level of attendance. Working arrangements are subject to continuous review.
