As a Trainee Bus Driver, you’ll receive all the necessary training, from gaining your provisional licence to becoming fully qualified, all of which is fully funded, letting you drive your career to the next level.

As a trainee driver you must have:
A full UK driving licence, which you’ve held for more than one year and no more than 6 penalty points.
Availability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and public holidays.
Here’s what you can expect:
Paid training while you work towards gaining your PCV Bus licence (Cat D) – all costs covered by Lothian! (Training pay rate £10.42p/h – first 5 weeks)
Starting hourly rates £14.85p/h once qualified.
Guaranteed 3+ hour working week.

Paid overtime with enhanced hourly rates.
Free travel across Edinburgh and the Lothians on all of our buses and Edinburgh Trams plus heavily discounted travel available for a friend or family member.
