The Opportunity
GHD is currently seeking applications for Entry Level Drafters/Designers to join our Digital Delivery Group business. With a position available in Sydney, this is a rare opportunity to kick-start your drafting/design career with a diverse organisation, dedicated to the development of our people and their careers.
We have opportunities available for:
Trainees - Recently completed or nearing completion (2026) Year 12 students seeking a career as a drafter/designer.
Cadets – Currently studying an Associate Degree / Advanced Diploma in Engineering.
Under direct supervision, you will learn drafting and design skills across one of many industry sectors and will become competent in the use of AutoCAD and gain experience in other design software such as 12d, Civil 3D & Revit.
Key responsibilities of these positions include:
Assisting in the preparation of drawings using AutoCAD and other design/drafting software in the field of engineering, projects range from; architecture & interiors, civil infrastructure, transport and water
Collaborating with senior team members on various technical tasks and taking guidance in support of your role
Developing your knowledge of GHD's Corporate Drafting Manual and other relevant systems, tools and processes
Attending TAFE or University and maintaining requirements of a Traineeship or Cadetship, which will include a combination of work-based training and formal training.
What you will bring to the role:
HSC (or equivalent) completion with strong academic results in Mathematics and English
Experience in AutoCAD desirable but not essential
Strong desire to build a rewarding career as a professional drafter/designer
Well-developed communication skills and a proven attention to detail
Intermediate computer skills coupled with a positive attitude and a desire to learn
Genuine interest in technical drawing and engineering
