About Waythrough

Waythrough was formed in 2026 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Together, we’ve created one of the largest mental health and social support charities in England.

Every year, we support around 125,000 people through nearly 200 services – and it’s all made possible by our 3,500 brilliant staff and volunteers.

Make a real difference in your community

Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.

The role involves providing wraparound support to clients at any stage of their treatment journey – whether at the beginning, middle, or towards completion.

This is an outward-facing role, working closely with community partners to create and strengthen opportunities for clients to build recovery capital outside of the service setting. The post is particularly suited to individuals seeking to transition into the drug and ******* field. As a trainee, the successful candidate will gain the knowledge, skills, and practical experience necessary to progress into a Recovery Practitioner role. They will hold a smaller caseload than qualified practitioners, with dedicated time focused on learning, upskilling and improving service delivery for our service users.

We are committed to fair chances for all and making sure everyone can access the help and support they need to realise their potential. By joining our team of passionate individuals you will be contributing to make this happen. If you feel that you would fit our values and ethos, are passionate about supporting people, but maybe don’t feel you have the experience required, talk to us about your transferrable skills.
