About John Holland
At John Holland, our purpose is simple – we transform lives with everything we do. We’ve always known that infrastructure is about people — our customers, our employees, and the communities in which we work every day.

That’s our difference. Deep experience and capability with a genuine care about creating better lives for people along the way. Be part of the team that’s up for the challenge of transforming lives for good.

We are now seeking a Training Advisor to support the development, coordination and delivery of learning programs for the Sydney Metro West – Linewide Project. In this role, you’ll partner with teams to uplift skills, streamline processes and help ensure our people have the knowledge and confidence to thrive.

About the Project
Sydney Metro West is a transformational 24 km underground railway connecting Sydney CBD to Parramatta, with stations at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, The Bays, Pyrmont and Hunter Street.

The Linewide package connects the entire system, delivering the critical rail infrastructure and technology that bring the metro network to life.
Project offices are located across several Sydney locations including the CBD, Clyde, Rosehill, The Bays and Burwood North.

About the Role
As the Training Advisor, you will provide vital support across the full spectrum of learning and development activities — from induction and soft skills training to onboarding, professional development programs and systems capability uplift.
Working closely with the project team and subject matter experts, you’ll help deliver high quality learning solutions, support organisational initiatives and ensure our training systems and processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
Provide advisory support to the team on the Project training matrix, training needs, capability development and organisational effectiveness
Support the end to end delivery of learning and development programs across Linewide
Develop, coordinate and refine training content, materials and guidelines in partnership with subject matter experts
Assist in workforce learning planning activities and contribute to capability development strategies
Support process improvements across learning systems, programs and workflows to enhance overall efficiency and quality
Facilitate training sessions, inductions, presentations and workshops as required
Administer and monitor online performance and development systems, ensuring data accuracy and recommending development opportunities
Build strong relationships across internal teams and external training partners to ensure seamless learning delivery
Support key programs including onboarding, competency development, and the Rail TAO process for Linewide
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education/Training, Organisational Development or a related field
Additional qualifications in learning style assessments or psychometric tools

Experience & Skills
Experience in Learning & Development, Organisational Development or HR advisory roles
Experience coordinating L&D on construction projects
Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills
Ability to deliver, facilitate and support training initiatives across diverse teams
Understanding of HR systems, development planning tools and performance management processes
High level of professionalism, confidentiality and attention to detail
Excellent communication, team player and system focussed
