Details: The Transport Enforcement Administration (TEA) works within the Transport, Industry, Gaming and Economic Regulation branch of Access Canberra. We are responsible for compliance, front-line policy and enforcement related matters involving the Road Transport legislation. We are also responsible for assessing complex applications related to road transport products.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong expertise in regulation, particularly in road transport legislation, complexity and nuance, if you are a collaborative and organised individual, then consider applying for this position!
Transport Enforcement Administration Officers are responsible for undertaking important road transport regulation work through ensuring timely recording of outcomes and notifications, preparing material for court purposes, preparing internal staff policies and working towards shared goals regarding transport regulation. Officers at the ASO5 classification will also be responsible for carrying out internal reviews in accordance with the Road Transport (General) Act 1999, providing advice to management, progressing regulatory reviews/projects and supporting the business unit.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:
Understanding of Road Transport Legislation is not essential but would be highly regarded.
Experience in using the rego. ACT computer database is not essential but would be highly regarded.
Note: This is a temporary position available immediately until 30/06/2026 with possibility of extension up to 12 months. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. This workplace is designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
