Introduction:
Capital Region Community Services (CRCS) is seeking an enthusiastic full-time Transport Operations Officer to join our Living Well Program.
About the Role
At CRCS, we don’t just provide services – we empower individuals to live with independence, dignity and connection to their community. As a Transport Operations Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the safe, efficient and person-centred delivery of community transport services.
Working under the guidance of the Transport Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational support of the service, including fleet coordination, driver liaison, scheduling systems and administration. Your work will help ensure older people, people living with disability, and those requiring transport to medical or social supports can access services reliably and with dignity.
Participants access the Community Transport Service through programs including the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), Community Assistance and Temporary Support (CATS), the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Chronic Health Conditions Transport, Community Bus services and fee-for-service transport.
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
Qualification in administration, business, aged care or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience in an administrative or operational support role (transport or community services desirable)
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
High attention to detail and problem-solving capability
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
Experience working in a customer-focused environment
Ability to learn and use multiple software systems
Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles
Knowledge of person-centred practice and community service delivery (or willingness to learn)
Responsibilities
In this varied and fast-paced role, you will:
Support the daily coordination of transport services to meet participant needs
Liaise with Community Transport Drivers to provide clear schedules, updates and operational support
Manage vehicle operations, including servicing, maintenance, inspections and fleet records
Maintain the vehicle register, logbooks and booking systems (e.g. TurnPoint, Orcoda)
Assist with administrative tasks including reporting, data entry, billing support and documentation
Support payroll and financial processing activities
Monitor shared inboxes and respond to participant and stakeholder enquiries
Ensure accurate data management and compliance with program requirements
Contribute to safe work practices, risk management and incident reporting
Support continuous improvement and quality service delivery
CRCS is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all young children and young people. As part of our commitment to child safeguarding, we require all employees to undergo relevant screening processes, including Working with Children Check (WWCC) and/or Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) checks and National Police Checks.
CRCS also requires all employees to:
Hold or be willing to obtain a satisfactory Working with Vulnerable People registration (ACT) and/or a Working with Children Check (NSW), and have these with them at all times whilst employed by CRCS.
Undertake a National Criminal History Clearance by CRCS prior to commencing and every three years thereafter as a condition of employment. Employees are required to advise CRCS of any convictions that may effect their eligibility to work or perform the inherent requirements of their position
We are a supportive and inclusive workplace with excellent conditions, including:
Discounted early education and care program services
15 days personal leave (pro rata) and 17.5% annual leave loading
Access to salary packaging up to $15,900 (increase your take home pay!)
Up to 3 additional leave days between Christmas and New Year
Commitment to supporting your professional development.
Access to our Employee Assistance Program.
