Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems. Repair or replace mechanical units or components. Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications. Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs . Perform scheduled maintenance service. Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements. Coach and instruct apprentices. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification. Motor Vehicle Inspector Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Instrument experience: Mechanical. Area of specialization: Engine repair. Diesel engines. Diagnostics. Brake system. Fuel and emission system. Automatic transmission. Truck-trailer repair.
