Key Responsibilities:
Transport Operations
Operate a Mack tractor unit with low-loader transporter
Load, secure, transport, and unload a variety of plant and equipment (e.g., rollers, pavers, excavators, milling machine).
Conduct pre-start checks and ensure vehicle and trailer are roadworthy.
Comply with all NZTA heavy vehicle regulations and company transport policies.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Follow all site and road safety protocols.
Maintain accurate logbooks and transport documentation.
Report any incidents, near misses, or maintenance issues promptly.
Ensure load security and compliance with weight and dimension limits.
Team Support
Liaise with project teams to coordinate delivery schedules.
Assist with basic plant operation or site setup when required.
Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients or the public.
Skills & Experience Required:
Full Class 5 NZ driver licence (essential)
Proven experience transporting heavy plant and machinery
Familiarity with Mack tractor units and low-loader trailers
Strong understanding of load restraint and transport safety
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Flexibility to work nightshifts and occasional day shifts
Good communication and teamwork skills
Desirable:
WTR endorsements
Experience in civil construction or sealing environments
Basic mechanical knowledge
Working Conditions:
Predominantly nightshift work (Sunday-Thursday), with some day shift requirements
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
Travel across regions depending on project locations
