We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting patients with their rehabilitation and daily living activities, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care. This position requires a strong understanding of various patient needs across different settings, including home health, acute care, and skilled nursing facilities.
Duties
Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote independence and enhance quality of life.
Implement treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, focusing on patient-centered goals.
Provide care in diverse environments such as outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and home health settings.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and update individualized care plans based on patient progress.
Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in the evaluation and treatment of patients.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes using medical terminology.
Engage with geriatric and pediatric populations, adapting techniques to meet their specific needs.
Participate in medical imaging procedures as required to support patient assessments.
Qualifications
Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
Experience in skilled nursing facilities or acute care settings is preferred.
Knowledge of occupational health practices and principles related to patient care.
Familiarity with various patient populations, including geriatrics and pediatrics.
Strong understanding of care plans, rehabilitation techniques, and therapy modalities.
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Ability to demonstrate compassion, patience, and professionalism in all interactions.
