Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled CDL driver to join our team at United Natural Foods. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct regular pre and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition and compliant with FMCSA regulations.
Paperwork and Documentation: Review and complete paperwork accurately, including checking orders for correct number of boxes, correcting addresses as needed, and completing time cards.
Customer Service: Deliver and unload products to customers in a timely and professional manner, ensuring customer orders arrive in quality condition.
Safety and Compliance: Operate vehicles safely within UNFI guidelines, minimizing accidents and traffic violations, and comply with DOT regulations and UNFI's safety standards.
Supply Chain Management: Manage supplies and backhauls from vendors, completing related paperwork as required.
Requirements:
Valid CDL A license and medical card as prescribed by the Federal Motor Carrier Administration
Basic knowledge of DOT law and mandates, as well as understanding of UNFI's safety standards
Ability to pass a written exam and road test
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
