Job Description
We are a freight business operating in Tauranga, and are currently seeking a truck driver to join our team.
The key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Driving heavy vehicles in Tauranga. Required to drive within a radius of 250 Kilometres.
Loading and unloading freight from commercial businesses.
Ensuring compliance with vehicle load limits and safety regulations.
Completing the necessary paperwork as required under legislation and business procedures.
Delivering goods to specified customers within a specified time frame.
Maintaining the truck in a clean and tidy condition to comply with the standard industry requirements;
Filling the log book daily and handing in a copy on a fortnightly basis to the office.
Picking up the manifest/paperwork from dispatch for delivery.
Maintaining the vehicle carefully and letting the management know of any issues
Compliance with the relevant regulations
Skills and experience required:
Physically fit, as the job involves frequent jumping up and down from the truck, and Heavy lifting
The successful candidate must hold at least a class 5 driver's licence (or overseas equivalent)
Ability to work unsupervised
Ability to pass drug and criminal history checks if required
Must be available Monday to Saturday for rostered shift work.
Able to stay away overnight.
References and work history are required.
Should be able to drive forklifts
Minimum of 30 hours a week.
