Job Description
EFI Sales Ltd. is seeking a versatile Truck Driver / Material Handler to join our Langley team. This dual-purpose role is responsible for the safe transportation of commercial food equipment using a 5-ton truck and the efficient handling of inventory within our warehouse. The successful candidate will ensure goods are moved safely between vendors, warehouses, and customers while maintaining high standards of warehouse organization and professional service.
Responsibilities
Transportation & Driving (5-Ton Truck)
Safe Operation: Drive a commercial 5-ton truck to transport goods to customers, between EFI warehouses, and from vendors.
Cargo Management: Load and unload cargo manually or using pallet jacks and forklifts. Secure all loads to mitigate damage and ensure goods arrive in pristine condition.
Compliance & Safety: Maintain a valid Class 5 License and clean abstract. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and regulatory compliance.
Maintenance: Work with the Warehouse Manager to schedule truck and tire servicing. Maintain the vehicle’s cleanliness (inside and out).
Reporting: Maintain accurate delivery records. Immediately report any incidents, traffic violations, or delays while en route.
Customer Service: Provide professional, friendly interactions with receiving personnel and customers, ensuring timely and reliable deliveries.
Material Handling & Warehouse Operations
Order Fulfillment: Perform manual material handling to pick, pack, wrap, label, and prep orders for shipping.
Equipment Operation: Safely operate industrial equipment, including manual/power pallet jacks, stand-up Reach Trucks, and sit-down counterbalance forklifts (propane).
Inventory Control: Assist in routine inventory cycle counts and maintain accurate paperwork for all stock movements.
Site Upkeep: Maintain a clean, safe, and effective warehousing environment.
Team Support: Assist the warehouse team with general duties and transport equipment between EFI’s off-site storage and the main warehouse.
Skills
Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related fields
Mechanical knowledge to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks safely
Experience with order picking and load & unload procedures in a warehouse setting
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and procedures
Ability to operate heavy equipment including cranes, forklifts, and construction-related machinery
Good organizational skills with attention to detail for order accuracy and inventory management
Prior experience in construction or heavy equipment operation is a plus
