Job Summary
We are seeking a committed and financially experienced individual to join our Board of Trustees at The Cooke E-Learning Foundation (E2). As a Trustee with a background in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping, you will play a key role in supporting the governance and strategic oversight of the charity’s financial health. This is a voluntary position suitable for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact in the community.
You’ll work alongside a diverse board and management team to ensure that E2 remains financially robust, compliant, and focused on its mission to support the people of Beaumont Leys and beyond.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic oversight on financial matters, ensuring decisions are based on sound financial understanding
Review budgets, forecasts, and financial reports prepared by staff and/or external accountants
Help ensure legal and regulatory compliance relating to financial reporting and charitable governance
Support the development of financial strategies that enable long-term sustainability and community impact
Attend and contribute to trustee board meetings (usually quarterly)
Serve as a critical friend to the CEO and leadership team, particularly on finance-related matters
Experience & Skills
Professional background in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping
Good understanding of budgeting, cashflow, and financial reporting
Experience with charity finance or small organisation finances is desirable (but not essential)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Experience as a trustee or in a governance role is welcome, but not required
Job Type: Volunteer
Pay: Up to £1.00 per year
