Join the My Homeroom team and make a real difference in a child's learning journey.
My Homeroom is seeking dedicated, warm, and reliable tutors to support children who need extra help with learning. We provide 1:1 support aligned with the school year calendar. These roles are ideal for graduate Education Assistants, pre-service teachers, and new teaching graduates.
You will receive personalised mentoring and support from Maggie, an experienced educator who will help you build skills and confidence in delivering high-quality, student-centred lessons.
Casual employment aligned with school terms (approx. 36-40 weeks/year)
Work available before school, during school hours, and after school
Sessions take place at schools or learning spaces (travel may be required)
1:1 teaching
Online options
Full access to structured programs, templates, and teaching tools
Individualised support and mentoring provided
Training provided in literacy and numeracy to support children with specific learning disorders and difficulties
Complete brief but concise reports after each session to track student progress and inform future planning
Starting rate: $40/hour casual
Pay review after 12-month commitment, with potential increases
Paid for sessions canceled with less than 24 hours' notice
Flexible scheduling – accept sessions that suit your availability

My Homeroom is guided by a passionate education professional with 20 years of classroom teaching experience in both England and Australia. Having moved from the classroom into a Specialist Teacher role, she truly understands the challenges and changes in today’s learning environments, and the importance of giving every child the support they need to succeed.
Her deep knowledge and caring approach mean that tutors at My Homeroom don’t just work alone, they receive ongoing mentoring, coaching, and encouragement to help them grow in their roles and feel confident making a real difference.
