Role Responsibility
• A senior member of the unit that will produce videos to be published by the BBC s India English Online team on the website, social media platforms and the soon-to-be-launched YouTube channel.
• Should be able to film on a wide range of cameras and edit on FCP and Premiere Pro among other editing software.
• Should have knowledge of creating graphics on Motion, Adobe After Effects among other software.
• Strong command over English language is essential.
• Should be able to produce original journalism – from ideating to filming, scripting and editing videos.
• Should have expertise in scripting, filming and editing short-format videos such as Reels and YouTube Shorts.
• Should be able to script, shoot and present explainers, news videos and documentaries.
• Will be expected to guide junior colleagues and sign off on their work when necessary.
• Mentor and provide constructive feedback to members of the BBC s India English Online video team.
• Deliver journalism of the highest standard and within the required timeframe using available resources.
• Delivering to tight deadlines while maintaining the highest editorial standards.

• Applicants will have substantial relevant experience of producing high-quality videos.
• They should have good understanding of camerawork, lighting, scripting and editing.
• They will be able to demonstrate a strong interest in video production and proven commitment to news.
• Must have the full range of technical skills, the ability to lead, ideate, script and sign off videos.
• They should be willing to learn how to use new technology and kit.
• Need to demonstrate editorial awareness and judgement combined with a thorough understanding of the editorial aims and policies of BBC News.
• Experience of gathering news content in public order situations.
• Able to take responsibility for any brief that might be assigned by the India Editor, including supervising less experienced members of staff.
• This includes working well within a team of journalists across the whole range of BBC News outlets and the ability to work under pressure.
