UI Design Specialist – Interaction/Visual Design
Siemens founded the new business unit Siemens Advanta (formerly known as Siemens IoT Services) on April 1, 2026, with its headquarter in Munich, Germany. Before our software developers write even a single line of code, they have to understand what drives our customers. What is the environment? What is the user story based on? Implementation means – trying, testing, and improving outcomes until a final solution emerges. Knowledge means exchange – discussions with colleagues from all over the world. This is your role. What part will you play?
• Sell, sell, sell! You’ll need to be able to fluidly explain and sell the concepts and benefits of UI to senior stakeholders, but equally to junior developers so your ability to pitch to a target audience is a must.
• You are not alone! There is a huge talented design community at Siemens. We’re connected but we need to find even more ways to capitalise our collective experience and knowledge to grow a unified design strategy with common practices and extended sharing of capability, knowledge, and design resources.
• Seed and Lead! You’ll need to guide internal and external IT teams in their adoption and use of UI principles, mind-set, frameworks, approaches, practices, and tools. You’ll need to be able to coach, mentor and train people to impart your knowledge and experience to others.
• Put theory into practice! We want to grow our UI capability and expertise. Your primary role will be to lead, as we know that if you only act as a UI design consultant, the benefits will disappear after you leave an intervention. You will be responsible for the interaction and visual definition of a product, supporting the design team from conceptualization to handing over to developer teams.
• Inspire, motivate, and energize those you work with.
We don’t need superheroes, just super minds.
• A solid basis in UI Design, you literally need to be able to write the book on how it’s done, so you will probably need 3+ years of experience working at a digital agency and/or in an in-house UX/UI team with a significant portfolio as a UI Designer and knowledge on Design Systems. You’ll need to evidence your achievements and be credible in front of other accomplished designers.
• Proven experience in leading a Design System project and/or upskilling junior UI designers would be awesome.
• Aptitude to work in a large corporate organization, with diverse structures and stakeholder groups. It’s a complex world sometime but shouldn’t feel constrained by this.
• Problem solver that does not accept the ‘status quo’.
• Evangelist of user experience in the organization.
