The unarmed security guard is responsible for safeguarding property, assets, and personnel
This role requires vigilant monitoring of premises, regular patrolling, and quick responses to any incidents or disturbances
The unarmed guard acts as a deterrent to crime, ensures the safety of individuals on-site, and collaborates with law enforcement or emergency personnel when necessary
Patrolling: Perform regular patrols of the premises (inside and outside) to ensure safety, check for suspicious activity, and identify potential hazards
Monitoring: Use surveillance equipment (e.g., CCTV cameras) to monitor activities on-site and report any irregularities or security breaches
Access Control: Monitor and control access points, check identification, and ensure only authorized personnel or visitors are allowed entry
Incident Reporting: Document and report any incidents, suspicious activities, or security breaches according to company procedures
Provide written reports and communicate incidents to supervisors or law enforcement when needed
Emergency Response: Act quickly in emergencies such as fires, medical situations, or security breaches, providing initial assistance and contacting appropriate authorities
Customer Service: Provide a visible security presence, helping guests, employees, or visitors with directions or answering questions while maintaining professionalism and courtesy
Enforcement of Policies: Ensure compliance with company policies, rules, and regulations regarding security, safety, and behavior on the premises
Safety Checks: Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment, doors, windows, and other security features to ensure they are in good working order
Collaboration: Work in coordination with other security staff, law enforcement, or emergency responders when necessary
May work indoors or outdoors in various weather conditions
Shifts may vary, including nights, weekends, and holidays
On foot patrol or stationed at a security desk depending on the location
May require standing for long periods or walking extensive distances
