Job Description
Are you an experienced electrician looking to step up into, or build upon your current Leading Hand experience? Our Macraes-based Underground Electrical team are on the search for a Leading Hand.
Working an 8 day on, 6 day off, 6:30am - 6:30pm roster, this role will see you coordinating, leading and supervising shift electricians while they carry out safe and efficient execution of their maintenance and installation tasks within our Underground Mine.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Supervises electrical personal in performance of their duties and maintains a high standard of safety and work quality
Liaises with Engineers, Planners, Foreman and Supervisors to determine priorities
Carry out at least two electrical audits of new installations, and two task observations per swing
Plans and schedules work on a daily and weekly basis
Estimating time and materials required to complete jobs and the raising of orders
Training of other personnel or apprentices
Perform risk assessments during course of duties
Ensure correct PPE is always worn
Comply with all safety requirements, all company policies and procedures
Cover on shift when required
Qualifications
Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred
Electrical trade certificate, current practicing licence and mining endorsement
Please note that a valid New Zealand working Visa / NZ work rights will be required for this position
Experience:
A minimum of four years relevant underground mining experience, including High voltage installation and switching
