Visual/UI Designer (AI Integration)
San Francisco or Seattle Based
6 month contract
$800 per day
About Our Team
Our multidisciplinary UX team focuses on AI and generative systems, exploring new
relationships between people and technology. We collaborate with research scientists on
groundbreaking models to understand how these systems can unleash their power to
supercharge human creativity and capability.
The Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and creative Visual/UI Designer to lead the integration of
Google DeepMind’s AI technologies into a diverse array of products and services. You will
act as a foundational bridge between advanced AI research and user-facing applications,
ensuring that AI enhances—rather than complicates—the user experience.
Key Responsibilities
● System Mapping: Quickly understand product systems and information architecture
to identify optimal AI integration points.
● Designing for Probabilistic UX: Develop UI/UX patterns that account for AI errors
and hallucinations. You must demonstrate an intrinsic understanding of how to
manage user expectations without overpromising.
● Stakeholder Synthesis: Iterate and synthesize original concepts, explaining your
approach based on core project goals to a wide variety of stakeholders, including
senior leadership.
● Creative Domain Focus: Apply a deep understanding of the creative
process—specifically filmmaking, ad agencies, or campaign creation—to build tools
that empower creators.
Candidate Requirements
Must-Haves
● AI Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience working specifically with AI systems
for web.
● Design Tenure: 5-7 years of UI design or related visual/motion design experience.
● Efficiency: Proven ability to work against briefs with tight timelines (Agency
experience is a significant plus).
● Tooling: Strong, expert-level proficiency in Figma.
● Portfolio: A portfolio demonstrating the ability to ship consumer-facing products and
navigate the unique challenges of AI-powered features.
Preferred & "Nice-to-Have"
● Technical Curiosity: Personal experimentation with AI (e.g., "vibe coding") and a
point of view on how AI impacts the future of design.
● Prototyping: High-fidelity prototyping skills to test AI interactions.
● Motion & Multi-modal: Experience in motion design and designing for multi-modal
interfaces.
● Product Breadth: While the focus is consumer, experience with SaaS or internal
tooling is helpful.
● Industry Expertise: Direct experience working in film, video, or advertising
design production.
