UX Designer, Chrome on Android

Design and user experience (UX) are at the forefront of everything we do. The job of an Interaction Designer is to envision how people experience our products and bring that vision to life in a way that feels inspired, refined and even magical. In an Interaction Designer role, you’ll address complex tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use designs for billions of people around the world—from the first-time user to the sophisticated expert. Achieving this goal requires collaboration with teams of Designers, Researchers, Software Developers, and Product Managers throughout the design process—from creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes. At each stage, you will anticipate what our users need, advocate for them and ensure that the final product surprises and delights them.
Chrome for Android is enormously popular and serves as the gateway to the web for a wide swath of users. Everyone from power users on Pixel to people coming online for the first time, and across many form factors including phones, foldables and tablets. Given the availability of new technologies including Generative AI, we're designing innovative features to help people harness the power of the open web.In this role, you will partner directly with UX, Product Managers, and Software Developers to ideate, iterate, and implement new features in your area of ownership while developing product strategy. You'll join a strong team of designers and researchers dedicated to solving some really interesting (and challenging) problems for users across the globe.Chrome OS delivers quality computing at scale to provide universal and unfettered access to information, entertainment, and tools. Responsibilities

Define the product/UX strategy and generate new feature ideas.
Contribute to the maintenance and evolution of Chrome on Android's design system, across Mobile and Large Form Factors (e.g., tablets, foldables, etc.).
Partner closely with other Designers, UX Writers, UX Researchers, Software Developers, and Product Managers to arrive at the best product ideas both internally in Chrome, and externally with Android and Material Design.
Provide patterns, best practices, and guidance on interaction/visual design for different devices.
Create artifacts, prototypes, and specs that enable developers to implement new features efficiently.
