Overview
A user experience (UX) writer creates content, including copies and interface texts for web experiences and products aimed at helping users navigate the product. PowerSchool is looking for a highly motivated UX Writer to work with our User Experience team! As a user experience (UX) writer, you will define the voice and tone of PowerSchool products, ensuring consistency across our products and platform. The UX Writer collaborates with User Research, Design, Product, and Engineering teams to create UX copy and product documentation.
Responsibilities
• Provide product copy and define the design workflow with UX designers.
• Review UX copy and contextual information in mockups with UI designers.
• Work with the product team to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
• Write easy-to-understand user interface text and online help content for products.
• Proactively update documentation to align with project scope changes.
• Review and provide feedback on AI-generated content.
• Create videos/tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications.
• Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
• Participate in daily scrum meetings and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) activities.
Qualifications
Skillset:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Self-starter and with demonstrated initiative.
• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technology, tools, and processes.
Qualification:
• 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Working knowledge of the Atlassian software suite (JIRA and Confluence) or another wiki-based content system.
• Working knowledge of Gainsight and Figma.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Working experience in maintaining an online documentation repository using either a Content Management System or a static website generator and hosting.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
