Job Description
Statseeker is a mature product that has evolved over many years. As a result, parts of the user interface reflect different design approaches and patterns that have emerged over time. We have recently introduced a newer UI standard built around a modern React frontend, but a number of legacy pages and views have not yet been uplifted to align with that standard.
This contract role will focus on reviewing our current interface, identifying inconsistencies and usability issues, and helping define a clearer, more consistent design direction across the product. You will provide feedback on our latest UI patterns, recommend practical improvements, and produce designs for uplifting older parts of the product so our engineering team has a clear implementation path.
What you’ll be doing
You will work closely with our product and engineering teams to:
Review the current Statseeker user interface and assess its overall usability, consistency, and design quality
Evaluate our newer UI standard and provide recommendations to strengthen it
Identify inconsistencies across legacy and modern areas of the product, including layout, navigation, visual language, workflows, and interaction patterns
Create designs for uplifting legacy pages and views into the newer interface style
Provide practical, implementation-ready design guidance that engineering can follow
Balance user experience, visual consistency, and technical practicality
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who combines strong product thinking with practical UI design skills. Ideally, you will have:
Proven experience as a UX/UI Designer, Product Designer, or similar role working on enterprise software products
Strong experience reviewing and improving existing products, not just designing brand new ones
A strong eye for visual consistency, usability, and interaction design
The ability to create clear, actionable designs that engineering teams can implement
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain design decisions at varying technical levels
Nice to have
Experience with React-based products
Familiarity with Chakra UI or similar component libraries
Experience working on data-heavy or networking based applications
What success looks like in this role
By the end of the engagement, you will have helped us:
Gain a clear view of the strengths, weaknesses, and inconsistencies in the current UI
Improve and refine our newer design direction
Produce high-quality designs for uplifting legacy pages and views
Establish more consistency across the product
Give our engineering team clear, practical designs and guidance to implement
Why this role is important
This is not a greenfield design role. It is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a real product used by customers, helping bring consistency and clarity to an interface that has grown over time. Your work will directly influence the future usability and visual direction of Statseeker.
