Introduction:
This role will hold responsibility for execution of specific initiatives focussing on Valuation Control Transformation objectives in-order to deliver defined project outcomes to agreed timelines. You will be aligned to a specific Finance Transaction Cycle where you will be “hands on” in transformation activities including, planning, execution, process assessment and mapping, communications, analysis, and future state operating model/process design and execution.
What will you be doing?
The Finance Transformation Team is Specialist accountable for implementing specific initiatives as part of the overall FTC strategy. This includes working with various internal teams / stakeholders to deliver accurate reporting, and ensuring appropriate governance and control through execution.
- Working on Valuation Control Transformation objectives delivering defined project outcomes to agreed timelines
- Working with colleagues to define best in class approaches informed by appropriate meta data, aligning to wider firm strategy where applicable and ensuring solid control outcomes
- Supporting stakeholders and working across asset class and functional teams within PC Valuations based across both onshore and offshore locations
- Analyse from differing perspectives or viewpoints to fully understand complexity and Sets focus on improved delivery to customers or colleagues
- Helping with various projects and ensuring they are executed within planned timelines to guarantee internal and external commitments are met
- Ensuring tooling and platforms are optimised through the Transformation process, making sure they are commercially viable solutions aligned to our Consistently Excellent culture
- Engage with technology and business functions on strategic projects impacting systems used for Product Control Valuations to ensure solutions to meet project deliverables are best in class and meet the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to enhance the monitoring of processes to further aid future improvements
- Managing progress updates through internal department meetings, preparing & tracking MI, metrics and providing updates to internal stakeholders up to FMT and ExCo level
- Ensuring messages are pitched at an appropriate level for the audience, often requiring aggregation of complex individual threads into a coherent and consolidated message
What we’re looking for:
- Proven ability to work under pressure and balance priorities to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills, capable of adapting to changing requirements, re-prioritising and supporting the team in making any necessary changes
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to produce high quality management information and documentation for senior governance forums
- Ability to create and maintain solid networks across the entire organisation and at all levels
- Skilled in the use of data analysis and presentation software tools; able to extract and understand the underlying picture from a wealth of complex data
- Ability to structure, distil and evaluate complex information, forming sound conclusions which can be articulated to a diverse group of stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience running operations functions and should have led and driven large transformation programs within Risk, Finance or Treasury
- Excellent understanding of front to back system architecture and E2E processes and controls within Finance / Barclays
- Proven ability to steer solutions, building processes based on strong understanding of the infrastructure in place
- Excellent team player with the ability to also work independently when required
- Proven ability to adapt to an evolving operating model and to actively participate in its development
- Understanding and exposure to project management disciplines and techniques / Full project lifecycle processes
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Self-motivated, with exceptional drive and ability to work around constraints and blockers
- Advanced planning and organising skills and able to ‘hit the ground running’ in unfamiliar environments
- Academic and professional qualifications that may include CA / CFA / Masters in Finance / Financial Engineering would be an advantage
