Job Title Market Valuation and Risk Management – Valuations Analyst – Associate
Location Mumbai, India
The Market and Valuation Risk Management (MVRM) group is a 2nd line of defense (2LOD) control under the Bank’s Chief Risk Office. MVRM globally identifies, assesses and manages the market risks, and is responsible for independent valuation of balance sheet positions, predominantly across the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB).
Exotic Trade Review is a cross-asset group which exists to ensure the most complex trades are accurately booked within the trade capture / valuation systems. ETR is a control function with the objective of ensuring all executed trades are booked appropriately within the booking systems reflect correct Valuations/PnL’ s through the life of the trade. ETR team collaborates with FO, IPV, Middle Office and Operations teams to ensure the control is able to ensure highlighting any booking related issues appropriately and a timely remediation.

Your key responsibilities
• Reviewing / analyzing, and verifying the booking of complex trade structures that within DB systems.
• Identify and highlight control gaps in trading and booking practices such as Business Control and Business Compliance.
• Facilitating process change and development both within and outside of the group. As a change agent, you would be expected to understand processes, the business and how to interact with our stakeholders to achieve the required results.
• Working with multiple stakeholders to standardize booking practices and reducing operational risk surrounding exotic bookings.
• Handling Front Office, Middle Office, Operations queries and responding in a time bound manner to ensure completion of reviews within agreed timeframe.
• Continuous focus on process improvisation by means to challenging the existing status quo besides looking for opportunities for operational improvements.
Your skills and experience
• Bachelor's Degree in either Math, Statistics, Accountancy, Financial Engineering, Finance or equivalent, while further professional qualification or study .e.g. CIMA, CPA, CFA, FRM, or Master’s Degree will be an advantage
• Solid knowledge in financial markets products (Credit, Rates, FX, Equities, and Derivatives), with understanding of trading strategies, market dynamics and regulatory environment preferred
• Hands-on experience on Python, Visual Basics, Tableau is highly preferred
• Prior experience in an Exotic Trade Review role preferable
• Highly organized and can work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrates an intrinsic motivation, and ability to critically think and navigate problems on their own.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a multi-cultural setting with senior stakeholders across locations
