Week 1: Monday - Friday 07:00 to 17:00
Week 2: Monday - Friday 07:00 to 17:00 (Saturday 07:30 to 12:00)
Simon Acres Recruitment are proud to represent our client, a well-established company within the merchant industry, seeking a reliable and experienced Van Driver/Sales Assistant to join their High Street branch in Surrey.
Key Responsibilities
• Efficiently load vehicles and deliver goods to sites and customers, adhering to safe lifting and handling procedures.
• Collect and deliver goods between branches.
• Assist in the yard with deliveries and help customers where necessary.
• Ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and safe by performing daily checks according to company procedures.
• Report any vehicle safety concerns or defects to the Branch Manager.
• Strictly observe the company’s health and safety procedures at all times, ensuring appropriate PPE is worn.
• Accurately complete delivery paperwork.
• Proactively seek out new sales opportunities by identifying potential new business leads.
• Provide direct customer assistance in the branch, especially in the yard and stores areas.
• Monitor traffic in the yard to ensure no danger to persons or vehicles.
• Carry out any other duties as required by the Branch or Assistant Manager.
Requirements
• Full UK driving licence.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• Clean driving record.
• Experience driving a Sprinter/Luton van or similar vehicles.
• Good customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, take instructions, and thrive under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
