W Health Ventures is a Boston-based venture capital fund that invests in and incubates early-stage healthcare startups that address critical unmet healthcare needs leveraging technology and AI. To date, we have invested in twelve startups, including BeatO (India’s largest diabetes management platform), Mylo (India’s largest pregnancy support platform), Wysa (Global mental health platform used across +5+ countries), and Jasper (Leading US Oncology support platform), among others. We also run India’s first healthcare startup studio, 2070 Health, which builds innovative startups from scratch by combining innovative ideas, rockstar founders, and our innovation platform. About the Role
We are seeking an experienced investment professional to join us as Senior Associate – Investments. This person will play a crucial role in sourcing, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities in the healthcare sector. The role will also work closely with the portfolio companies to drive growth and value creation.

Responsibilities
1. Investment Origination and Deal Flow
– Proactively source and evaluate new investment opportunities aligned with the firm’s investment thesis.
– Identify and cultivate relationships with entrepreneurs, industry experts, and key stakeholders in the startup and healthcare ecosystem to access proprietary deals.
2. Due Diligence and Deal Closure
– Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investments, including market research, competitive analysis, primary conversations, financial modelling, and technology assessment.
– Manage the investment process from term sheet draft to closure while being compliant with all regulations.
3. Portfolio Management
– Proactively support and monitor existing portfolio companies, working closely with founders to help them in their strategic projects.
– We spend ~40% of our time in portfolio management; the candidate should be ready to get her/his hands dirty in ensuring the success of the companies.
– These projects could include everything from hiring to new product development, depending on the stage and needs of the company.
– Track competition trends and identify opportunities to add value to the portfolio companies.
4. Market & Industry Research
– Stay abreast of the latest advancements and trends in the startup and healthcare landscape.
– Prepare insightful reports and presentations to keep the investment team and firm leadership updated.
5. Brand Building and PR
– Support PR and brand building initiatives across articles, thought leadership, events, etc.
– Build relationships with accelerators/incubators, other investors, and universities to shape the fund’s presence and leadership in the Indian digital health ecosystem.

Qualifications
– 2-5 years of investing experience (focused on healthcare) or operational role in a healthcare startup is mandatory.
– Strong educational pedigree with a postgraduate degree in business or a related field.
– Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
– Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
– Deep understanding of the healthcare industry and the evolving health-tech landscape.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
