Your Hotel - Ovolo The Valley
Welcome to your Whimsical Oasis.
Situated in the heart of Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley lies Ovolo the Valley. Inspired by the eclectic culture and iconic history of the surrounding neighbourhood, Ovolo the Valley draws guests into a whimsical oasis of colour and art, with surprising hints of quirkiness, custom wallpaper, eccentric furniture, and illustrations curated throughout all its spaces. Designed for effortless living, Ovolo the Valley features 103 guest rooms, Tel Aviv-inspired Restaurant and bar KAZBA, multiple event spaces, and a rooftop pool.
The Gig
Reporting to the Director of Sales and Operations, the Venue Manager is key for maximizing guest satisfaction and for the strategic development of our hotel. This is a leadership role that requires people management skills, excellent attention to detail and ability to execute and follow through on projects. This is a Full-time position and will require flexibility within availability. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Run day to day operations, ensuring shifts are appropriately staffed and effectively managed
Oversee bar, room service, events operations and rooftop in a way that maximises efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery, in line with Ovolo standards and procedures
Successfully manage the operational running of events and bar functions, including the planning, set up, execution and follow up to each event, in consultation with the Events Manager
Design and deliver effectual on and off job training initiatives on a regular basis in line with identified training needs, so that the team is familiar with all products and services, including full knowledge of menus and wine lists, service standards and procedures
Oversee department recruitment, including interviewing, contracting, HR administration, and induction process, implementing comprehensive and systematic training for new starters and providing clear guidance and support to conduct their roles to required level of performance
Devise comprehensive and user-friendly standards and procedures for all food and beverage operations and communicate effectively across the team
About you
1-2 years’ experience in a similar leadership or managerial role in a food & beverage
Deliver exceptional customer service experience within depth F&B knowledge
Demonstrate ability to drive Customer Service Programs and achieve desired results
An inspirational and people person– lead, support and develop your Team Members
A stickler for attention to detail, the little things count!
Full of energy and enthusiasm, with a strong determination to succeed as a team
Holder of Responsible Service of ******* Certificate
Proficient in POS, Bepoz & Micros systems
