The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to establish and manage the Community and Recreation Venues Operations team.
The Venue Operations Coordinator oversees the booking and administration services for Council’s community venues, including the award-winning Bondi Pavilion, as well as delivery of sports and recreational activities at Margaret Whitlam Recreation Centre.
Leading a team of eight, the Coordinator drives excellence in customer service for all venue hire booking and administration services, ensuring enquiries are responded to accurately and within agreed timeframes. The role also leads the sports and recreation team to deliver Council-run programs and activities organised by external hirers and home sporting clubs.
The Venue Operations Coordinator works closely with the Venue Services Coordinator to develop venue schedules that offer a vibrant mix of high-quality events, activities and experiences across Council’s venues, to attract a wide range of user groups, customers and audiences.
Attention to detail, experience in administrative processes, implementing policies, motivating a team, commitment to customer service excellence and a positive, can-do attitude are key to success in this role.
About You
Appropriate tertiary or other qualifications or equivalent experience in venue management, arts/entertainment management or project management related fields.
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in venue operations and the coordination of related administrative processes across venue hire, compliance and safety.
Demonstrated exceptional customer service orientation.
A positive and collaborate working style.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to facilitate complex situations to a positive outcome.
Demonstrated organisational capability, able to manage numerous tasks simultaneously and plan for and meet deadlines.
Ability and willingness to work outside standard office hours, including weekends, with time in lieu provisions applying.
Minimum intermediate computer literacy in Microsoft suite and databases.
Current Class C driver licence.
