POSITION PURPOSE
The VFX Supervisor acts as the client-facing creative Supervisor representing Image Engine. They are responsible for overseeing all the VFX work for the film, as well as creatively leading the entire visual effects team. Ultimately, oversee the final delivery of high-quality digital effects for our clients. The VFX Supervisor will provide direction and collaborate with Supervisors/Leads to ensure the creative and technical visions of the director are realized.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in the bidding stages, assess the shots and do shot breakdowns
Supervise the VFX component of a live action shoot on location
Work closely with the VFX Producer to ensure an accurate production schedule is setup and maintained
Work together with the Supervisors/ Leads to work out element, technical and R&D requirements
Be the point of contact with the creative leads on the client/production side in concert with the VFX Producer(s)
Work closely with the client(s) to ensure their vision is met, constantly improving upon the clients wishes
Communicate the creative direction for each shot and sequence
Responsible for presenting the work to the client and have final say over what work is presented
Conduct efficient reviews of artists work on shots
Provide internal sign off on final shots
Ensure shot submission is of the highest of standards
Work closely with all departments on process improvement and development
Mentor and develop direct reports to expand their knowledge, skills and abilities
Responsible for presenting the work to the client and have final say over what work is presented
Work with our other VFX supervisors to maintain consistent standards and processes across the studio
