Role Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Contribute to overall governance mechanisms (including committee oversight, monthly workplan and regulatory updates) for Climate Risk management
• Provide support on organising the Climate Risk Management Committee ("CRMC") meetings and updates to the Rolling Agenda and Terms of Reference
• Collaborate with stakeholders to prepare the CRMC deck, review papers for adherence to Beagle 2.0 principles and ensure timely circulation of deck
• Prepare CRMC minutes of meeting and ensure timely circulation of minutes
• Prepare CRMC summary report for submission to the Committee Governance team
• Conduct the annual Committee Effectiveness Review ("CER") to ensure we meet the high standards for Risk Committee governance
• Work with team members across Group Climate Risk Management and Risk Change teams to prepare and consolidate the monthly workplan updates
• Drive high standards of the monthly workplan decks, to be in line with Beagle 2.0 principles
• Provide support on the submission of regulatory updates. This includes the preparation and consolidation of updates, analysis, as well as all relevant artefacts and working files.
• Ensure that outcomes delivered, including necessary controls are fit for purpose and that the Bank's risk governance disciplines are adhered with.
• Contribute to the broader Climate Risk team in building out best-in-class 2nd LOD Climate Risk management capabilities
Business
• Support engagement with the broader Risk function, business lines and other functions on the topic of Climate Risk and drive improvement in governance standards. Broad awareness and understanding of the Bank's business model and risk profile.
Processes
• Provide support on committee governance, preparation and consolidation of respective updates to monitor and improve governance standards for Climate Risk.
Risk Management
• Contribute to the broader Climate Risk team in building out best-in-class 2nd LOD Climate Risk management capabilities. Ensure that risks are properly identified and mitigated, and issues are appropriately escalated.
Governance
• Support overall governance mechanisms (including committee oversight, monthly workplan and regulatory updates) for Climate Risk management. Ensure that outcomes delivered, including necessary controls are fit for purpose and that the Bank's risk governance disciplines are adhered with.

Key Stakeholders
• The role requires working closely with Committee Governance, Risk Change, Sustainable Finance, Regulatory Liaison teams within the Group. The role holder will also provide support to Members and Agenda invitees of the CRMC.
Our Ideal Candidate
Qualifications
Knowledge/Experience:
• 16-18 years of experience in governance related roles, preferably in Climate Risk
• Familiarity with the increasing regulatory expectations facing banks with respect to climate risk
• Excellent analytical, writing skills and attention to detail
• Experience of liaising across diverse stakeholder groups, including senior managers
Academic and professional background:
• Home and Host Regulatory Framework and Requirements: Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates
• Good knowledge of banking risk management and standards
• Understanding of Corporate, Institutional, and Commercial & Retail portfolios and products
Interpersonal skills:
• The candidate should be highly-motivated to rapidly advance the firm's plan to establish a comprehensive climate risk management framework against an ambitious timeline.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and independent thinker.
• Excellent attention to detail and good time management.
• Initiative, creativity and problem solving.
Competencies:
• Self-starter, ability to quickly assimilate and analyse large amounts of information across a variety of topics
• Proven ability to partner and collaborate across an organisation, support facilitation, with the ability to build a strong internal network across all levels of the organisation
Role Specific Competencies
• Manage Risk
• Experience in a financial institution, preferably in roles that involve development and monitoring of policies and frameworks for governance and risk management
• Good understanding of the banking industry regulatory landscape, preferably on Climate Risk
• Ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at various levels across functions and geographies.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Strong analytical, writing skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated person with a high level of personal responsibility, drive, dedication and a desire to excel consistently
• Effective in tracking and reporting progress updates of multiple areas and in highlighting key issues
