Job Description

The Vice-President, Enterprise Strategy reports to Executive Vice-President, Corporate Development, Enterprise Strategy and Chief Financial Officer, TD Securities. The role is instrumental in driving the bank's enterprise strategy function that is responsible for leading TDBG's annual strategic planning process, including shaping the Bank's short- and medium-term ambition and priorities.

The Vice-President, Enterprise Strategy is responsible for leading a dedicated team of professionals responsible for providing strategic advice to the business segments in support of their short, medium and long-term priorities, manage the company's strategic planning process and ensure that plans and strategies are aligned with the enterprise strategy and risk appetite.

The highly visible team equally tracks progress in delivering the Bank's strategic objectives, tracks developments across the Strategic Risk Major Risk Category, and partners across the enterprise to deliver high-impact projects, including implementing the new CEO's strategic agenda. The team works extensively with stakeholders across all business lines and functions, with high visibility to SET members.

The general accountabilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:

Lead a team of Strategy Advisors who partner with business leaders across the organization on business challenges and deliver fact-based advice that aligns to strategy and drives shareholder value
Contribute to the strategic direction of the business and play a key role in the development and implementation of strategies in support of the overall business strategy.
Facilitate key discussions and provides thought leadership to executive audience (output is roadmap and/or strategic plan/ deliverables/frameworks/ short to long term goals etc.)
Lead the development and achievement of business strategies, including scoping and structuring, strategic reviews, and market research in support of improving overall profitability, efficiency, and customer experience.
Work closely with business leaders to understand their issues, create strategies for change and collaborate on recommendations.
Conduct ongoing assessments of industry and competitive landscape, identify key industry trends impacting the business, and associated opportunities for growth.
Drive greater efficiency, effectiveness, & capability in collaboration with functional leaders
Contribute to the design and delivery of strategy sessions and workshops and collaborate with teams across TD and outside the organization to help in the development of content and reports for the Executive teams
Proactively manage project plans, while effectively engaging and communicating with key stakeholders throughout
Apply knowledge of business principles and organization to develop actionable recommendations including strategic due diligence, product development studies, change management plans, and the evaluation of long-term investment opportunities
Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts to the Bank
Structure, staff, develop and lead a high performing team of professionals/experts capable of executing with excellence and fulfilling future talent requirements by providing ongoing learning and development opportunities and implementing effective coaching and performance management practices.
Promote and foster a positive working environment that encourages innovation, creativity, teamwork, and strong strategic partnerships with the business.
Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations

Undergraduate degree required with relevant post-graduate credentials a definite asset (MBA, CFA)
Other Qualifications / Skills / Experience

10+ years of consulting experience specializing in the financial industry in a top tier Consulting firm
A consulting executive / top-level professional with a broad range of financial management and strategic advisory experience with extensive understanding of the business and key financial drivers
Advanced level of expertise and financial acumen to provide insight on strategy development and be a strategic partner to the business on a broad range of financial matters
Comfort with ambiguous, ever-changing situations
Ability to break down and solve business problems through quantitative thinking and analysis
Balanced approach, ability to stay resilient under pressure
The ability to effectively work in teams across the bank with multiple stakeholders, influence and align others
Proven ability to manage a diverse group of professionals
Demonstrated time management and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines as well as the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
Confident presentation and facilitation skills and strong interpersonal and leadership skills to facilitate working with business and senior management at all levels.
Excellent analytical skills in assessing finance/market and business issues and exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
