About the role:
In your role as Vice President, Financial Institutions Coverage (Oceania) you will act as Coverage Banker for a broad range of financial institution clients located in Oceania. Working closely with the FI Leadership Team, your primary objective is to operate with a solutions mindset to help deliver optimal client outcomes. This will be achieved via strong coordination with relevant Product specialists and all other MUFG Coverage teams that may engage with these multi-faceted clients.
You will provide day to day coverage for these clients, engaging with key members within their capital markets and investment teams in addition to the C-Suite.
What you’ll be doing:
Develop specific account plans for each FI client and communicating the client’s strategy internally, identifying areas of opportunity
Originate and lead significant market transactions in the FI sector
Develop value-added solutions involving acquisition financing, fund finance, DCM, risk management, fund administration and ancillary banking products.
Report on client activity and progress in relation to the account plan
Be a key industry participant and subject matter expert within the FI sector
Providing leadership, clarity, and collaboration with other internal senior stakeholders
What we are looking for:
5+ years’ experience in a similar coverage role or product including Fund Finance, Leveraged and Acquisition Finance, Project Finance or Capital Markets
Existing profile and customer relationships within the FI Sector
Undergraduate Business / Commerce / Law Degree from a leading university is essential. Masters of Finance, MBA or CFA will be considered favourably
Proficiency in the full suite of core Microsoft products, with strong financial modelling skills
Possess a strong financial and commercial acumen
Be able to engage in independent research and analysis of customers and markets and apply critical thinking and a high level of attention to detail
Has an analytical mindset and problem solving skills
The ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally
Has strong interpersonal and presentations skills
Is a team player
Is a self-starter who applies initiative and has drive and enthusiasm
Strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with other departments
Previous experience in a leadership role providing guidance and mentorship to a developing team
