Institutional Securities Technology (IST) develops and oversees the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the institutional businesses and enterprise-wide functions. IST’s ‘clients’ include Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research, Prime Brokerage and Global Capital Markets.

Morgan Stanley Portfolio Accounting platform is offered to Fund Services, Prime brokerage and International Wealth Management clients. System provides Taxlot accounting, P&L calculation, Corporate Action processing, Position keeping, double sided General Ledger and rich Reporting capabilities to end users. This is provided across multiple asset classes like equities, bonds, options, swaps and other OTC derivatives. This is a real-time platform that requires fast calculations, efficient memory management and a highly scalable architecture. System is developed using distributed java and DB2/Sybase relation database.
Role & Responsibilities
This role provides an exciting opportunity to motivated candidates to work in a fast-paced environment on varied projects from short term tactical enhancements to strategic initiatives that impact multiple firm systems and business groups. Candidates will design and develop using latest technology architectures & API model. Candidates will be involved in all phases of SDLC such as requirements gathering, designing, developing, testing and supporting the application in production. Candidates will also be involved with ongoing technology support for the business users and queries.
Candidate will be working with a global technology team and business users in Prime Brokerage.
Experience Requirement
10 Years and more
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills
10+ years of experience in enterprise level Java development
Experience in development using Java 8 and frameworks such as Spring and Apache suite of libraries
Understanding of data structures, caching, design patterns, multi-threaded and high-performance architecture
Proficient in ANSI SQL and database technology
Comfortable working on Unix
Desired Skills
Experience in Sybase/DB2
Experience in distributed caching solutions
Experience in stream processing with Kafka and cloud-based development
Background in financial technology
Experience in custody/Accounting systems
Qualifications - External
Education Requirement
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Software, or related field of study
