Introduction: The purpose of the role is to make lending decisions on behalf of the bank to Barclays International Corporate customers (limit size £10m+) which are in line with the appetite of the bank. In order to do this you need to demonstrate excellent judgement in risk assessment when deciding which deals are supportable and which are not, acting within delegated discretion, or recommending to appropriate sanctioning level where required What will you be doing? Business Risk (70%) Consistently deliver high quality, commercial and balanced lending decisions, acting within delegated discretion or recommending to appropriate sanctioning level where required, and within defined credit risk appetite, demonstrating effective application of Target Market Criteria, with appropriate escalation where deemed outside of risk appetite. Monitoring of allocated portfolio and industries for material developments affecting credit quality and the initiation of appropriate action; Satisfactory industry workflow contribution completing an appropriate number of credit applications per month (including leading on credit processes for complex transactions, which may involve presentation to committees and senior sanctioners) while demonstrating a satisfactory contribution to wider proactive support across industry sectors and wider strategic projects and initiatives; Support CRMF activity as required and ensure early identification of emerging risks and escalation as appropriate through proactive and effective risk management. No avoidable losses or late WL referrals. Contribute to robust portfolio management by working closely with MMCT Industry Heads; Continue the culture of challenge while supporting debt growth in line with business objectives, recognising the uncertainty in the market and the global impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Business and Risk Stakeholders (20%) Maintain effective relationships with key business (Coverage, Portfolio, and Product) and risk stakeholders (including with credit risk teams and senior sanctioners) through strong engagement. Supporting strategic/systems change (i.e. Eagle Models), demonstrating guidance on priority deals, structuring and acceleration of viable opportunity in line with risk appetite, with a focus on NTB and adherence to SLAs Support the delivery of ad hoc sector deep dives or credit event requests with appropriate business engagement as required, including regulat portfolios reviews such as WL1, Levergaed Lending, and Amber List.
