Vice President of Engineering (20+yrs)
Location - Juinagar, Navi Mumbai
Reporting - COO
Education - Bachelor’s Degree in engineering preferably Computer Science.
Master’s degree in engineering/Management preferred.
Experience
· 20-25 years of total relevant experience.
· Minimum of 10-12 years in leadership roles in Enterprise level Applications Development and Platform selection assembly
· Rich Hands-on experience in designing and developing Enterprise class applications preferably Banking and Financial Services applications. Experience in selecting components, configuring and assembling Enterprise platforms for building Applications
· Expertise in architecting and designing in varied Technology around Java /J2EE, Angular, Oracle Database, Mongo DB etc.
· Technology evangelist with a flair for establishing and improving Software Engineering processes.
· Experience in building High Performance Engineering Teams
· Experience in Secure Software development lifecycle, Go live execution and security best practices.
· Proven expertise in the following process areas:
o Enterprise Software Development Methodologies (Waterfall/ Agile)
o Software Architecture around – Microservice, Monolith, Multi tier and API Based Integrations, Relational, no SQL databases and Big Data.
o Platform selection, Configuration and Development
o Estimation techniques
o Project Planning using Microsoft project (MPP)
o Risk Management
· Exposure to CMMi, ITIL and Agile standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, high integrity, strong work ethic and ability to empathize with the customer.
· Prior experience with Software Enterprise Product companies focused on Banking sector will be preferred.
Responsibilities
AVP /VP of Engineering will be a strong techno managerial leadership role responsible for leading and strengthening the Software Engineering and delivery to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions for different functions of RBI. The role invites experts in Software development, web and mobile application architecture with strong knowhow of Secure Software development lifecycle and security best practices. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing a team of Engineering Leaders and Architects working on both front-end and back-end services. This leader will own and drive the technical roadmap and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment. This role will lead teams that design, develop and manage new features and systems deployed. This role will lead in the overall planning, execution, and success of a complex cross-functional team, work closely with product management, actively participate in recruitment of candidates for senior technical positions and mentor technical staff.
· Leverage technology know-how to drive the product /project delivery, take technology decisions and control the overall product quality.
· Drive product engineering lifecycle and Roadmap, High quality and timely deliveries.
· Driven innovation in delivery and validation via the respective Centres Of Excellence
· Champion and strengthen Software Engineering processes and practices.
· Coordinate project governance meetings, project health checks, phase gate reviews, post project reviews and project level workshops
· Produce periodic and ad-hoc reports for all stakeholders including leadership to monitor and ensure that projects comply with the governance framework
· Play a proactive role in the promotion of Software development, Design methods and standards, implementation of good project management practice and the monitoring of projects
· Good hands-on experience in Microservice and Monolith Architecture, Architecture Migrations, Digital journey, Cloud enablement, Performance Engineering, Devops etc
· Provide timely, candid and constructive performance feedback to direct reports
· Develop direct reports to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance their career growth
Perform other duties as assigned or requested by Senior/Executive Management
