Job Purpose
• As the Vice President Operational Risk Controls for COE's, you will lead the Operational Risk and control unit across Mashreq's COE's in India, Egypt and Pakistan to maintain oversight of Internal control environment in all the center of excellences aligned to the banks governance frameworks, policies and procedures.
• You will work closely with the Head of Operational Risk, Managing Director and Heads of COE's, Senior Unit Managers in COE's and collaborate with other Direct Reports to the Head of Operational Risk.
• Key Result Areas

Overall & Strategic KRA:
• Contribute towards the implementation of oversight of Group Operational Risk Policy and Governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective Operational Risk management and regulatory framework.
• Support head of operational risk in discharging their CEO specific Operational Risk Management Obligations - Including preparation of meeting material, driving action points (e.g from governance forums or internal/external reviews), raising staff awareness, embedding key controls and initiatives.
• Encourage constructive cross county and cross business teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management in operational risk mitigation action and challenging actions and behaviors that are not consistent with Mashreq's operational risk policy and/or the best interest of the business and its customers.
• Help maintain a robust, efficient work environment across COE locations to ensure good operational, financial and project management and compliance with Mashreq policy, procedures with early identification and and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise within COE locations.
• Set expectations, share best practices and coach the unit COE managers to ensure they maximize their performance, meet required standards and continuously develop Risk related capabilities
